EBEWE Ordinance Updates

ENERGY STAR Award 2018 - Partner of the Year Sustained ExcellenceENERGY STAR Award 2018 - Partner of the Year Sustained Excellence

Los Angeles' Energy and Water program has gotten another update. If you missed it, the Los Angeles EBEWE program's deadline for LA buildings greater than 50,000 square feet to submit their energy and water data was June 1st, 2018.

One major recent change is the delay of the Performance Phase reporting. Previously energy and water efficiency audits were scheduled to begin in 2019 for low performing buildings. The City of LA has now approved an extension to the Performance Phase that delays audits and retro-commissioning to 2020, so building owners will have more time to meet efficiency goals and potentially avoid future audits. Contact MEP for more details on this matter.

Additionally, the City of LA has received an exemption from AB 802 reporting. For buildings that comply with the EBEWE ordinance, the City of LA will submit your data to the State on your behalf to ensure compliance with both benchmarking programs.

If you have not yet submitted your 2017 EBEWE or AB 802 data or have questions about the programs contact MEP today for assistance at (310) 782-1410.
