Energy Benchmarking from Coast to Coast

Energy Benchmarking from Coast to CoastENERGY STAR

Energy benchmarking is becoming increasingly common place as city officials and building owners seek to create a more energy conscious urban environment. One force driving this shift is the rise of energy benchmarking policies in cities and states across the country. In recent years dozens of states and municipalities have ratified building benchmarking programs that require building owners to track their energy usage and report it annually. From San Francisco to Portland, Los Angeles to Orlando building owners and operators are taking a more proactive approach to tracking their energy footprint thanks to these policies. Check out ENERGY STAR's interactive map of benchmarking programs across the country and see if your state or local metropolis is doing their part to improve the energy consciousness of its inhabitants. You cannot optimize what you are not measuring. If you are not measuring your energy use you are not optimizing it!
